Reflection

A few days ago I reviewed a document that I had created in February titled “Early 2012 Initiatives”. It was a communication tool sent out to all the leaders letting them have some idea of things on the horizon such as the spring FMCI conference, CORE, Spiritual Family class, property development, Restoring Honor event and even a “Ning” party to name a few, remember that one?

As I took time to reflect on the significance, work, and potential success of these initiatives, several things became clear. Valley Harvest Church, with it's Kingdom perspective, engages in ministry that targets, not just it's members, but the community and the larger region beyond us. You are willing to serve and go where no one sees you, be it the kitchen for a governmental luncheon or at home making calls for the heartbeat bill. You are willing to give of your time and resources to travel without fanfare to different parts of the state to pray, thank you prayer team. You are willing to do “hard things” like climb onto a lift and paint the ceiling of the sanctuary, thank you Stephanie, Diane,Julie, my girls, Raymond, Nathan, Jonathan and Brennan. (the ladies did the most). Thank you Greg, Alex, Bob and any others I missed. Thank you, Jen for spending two weekends turning the Harvest Center into a yard sale to raise $ for missions glad that's over.

In a few days a team of 15 workers will help host our 3rd Mega-Sports VBS camp and launch us into the 2nd half of 2012 . Thank you for being a community of believers willing to connect, serve together, worship together, minister together and continue to do “hard things” for the glory of God. I will give you fare warning, there are more great opportunities awaiting!
